15 Minute Savory Rice Pilaf

Ingredients

1 small onion, chopped
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 can (10 1/2 oz.) condensed chicken broth or beef broth (1 1/3 cups)
1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, undrained
1 cup frozen peas
2 cups Minute® White Rice or Minute® Brown Rice, uncooked

Directions

  • Cook and stir onion in butter in large saucepan on medium-high heat until tender.
  • Add broth, mushrooms and peas; stir. Bring to boil.
  • Stir in white rice; cover. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
  • If you would like to make this dish with brown rice, prepare as noted above, when stirring in the uncooked brown rice just simmer for five minutes before covering and removing from heat. Be sure to let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Jazz It Up: Season as desired with your favorite chopped fresh herbs
