Spanish Rice Pronto

1/4 cup bacon drippings
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1/2 medium green bell pepper, diced
1 1/3 cups Minute® White Rice, uncooked
1 3/4 cups water
2 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 tsp prepared mustard (optional)


  • Melt drippings in a large skillet.
  • Add onion, green peppers, and rice, and cook and stir over high heat until lightly browned.
  • Add remaining ingredients, mixing well.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Cover tightly and simmer 5 minutes.
